What is Kleard Now?
Buyers can use the Kleard Now app to search for homes that are for sale and request to self tour those properties after they get verified through the Kleard system.

In what areas will Kleard Now be available?
Kleard Now will be available throughout the U.S. but only Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, Nashville, Phoenix, Portland, and Atlanta will have MLS data meaning buyers can search for other homes listed for sale on the MLS, not just the ones agents add using Kleard Now.

Will my MLS allow the use of this technology?
Many MLS' will allow the use of self tour technology as long as the seller signs off agreeing to allow it. You still may be required to attach the MLS-Approved lockbox to the property but that doesn't mean you cannot use an additional lock on the property. The MLS-Approved lockbox can be for agents and the Kleard Now compatible locks can be for buyers to access for self tours.

Simply put, an MLS will typically allow the use of the Kleard Now compatible smart locks as long as the seller signs off. Confirm with the MLS to be sure.

Do the compatible smart locks require Wi-Fi?
No, they do not require Wi-Fi which makes them easy to add to any property.

Does Kleard Now work on occupied homes?
Yes. Buyers who want to tour homes that are occupied will be notified that they must first wait for you as the agent to confirm a time that works for the seller before you will approve the self tour. For example, you receive a request for access from a buyer, you contact the buyer and say that you will check with the seller and see how soon you can tour the house. Buyer agrees and after you check with the seller, you simply call the buyer back and tell them at X time you can come back and I will approve your self tour access.

Is there an agreement document for the seller to sign or some flyers I can show my client(s)?
We have a seller agreement you can use (click here to download). If you need a specific version that must be approved by your brokerage or MLS, please have them reach out to us. You can also see our flyer options here: (click here)

How much does the service cost?
If you’re a listing agent and want to activate a lock on your listing, you’ll need to purchase a Kleard Now compatible smart lock (currently we offer a deadbolt and a lockbox), and it will include 1 free self tour listing credit. After the 1st listing, you’ll need to pay $29 for each listing you enable self tours on. Activating the lock on Kleard Now allows buyers to self tour your listing, and it will also allow your listing to appear on the Kleard Now app that buyers download to find homes.

Do I have to pay the $29 activation fee for each listing after the first one that is included free with each lock purchase?
Yes, you will be required to pay $29 for it to show up as a Kleard Now home on the app for buyers/renters to find and request self tours on.

As a listing agent using Kleard Now, do I have to pay for each buyer who requests a self tour?
No, once you activate the listing with Kleard Now, all buyers who request access into the home will go to you to approve (unless the buyer already is working with an agent). If a buyer when signing up to use Kleard Now says they are working with an agent, you as the listing agent will still get the self tour request, but you will see the name of the agent the buyer is working with in their details section.

If I’m not the listing agent, and my client wants to self tour a home, do I have to pay to give them access?
No, all self tour requests go to the listing agent but if your buyer entered your name on the app as the agent they're working with, the listing agent will see that on the buyer details screen.

What kind of locks do you use?
We partnered with igloohome, a large lock manufacturer that ships to over 40 countries. The locks we use are the igloohome Deadbolt 2S and the igloohome Keybox 3 (the lockbox).

How much do the locks cost?
The Deadbolt 2S is $159.99 when you use coupon code KLEARDNOW2 and the Keybox 3 is $139.99 when you use coupon code KLEARDNOW3.

Click here to buy the Deadbolt 2S
Click here to buy the Keybox 3

The Deadbolt 2S needs to be installed to the door but is keyless and provides a better experience for the buyer as it auto-locks once the door closes. It also makes the house a smart home if  you leave the Deadbolt on the home after closing. It comes with a set of keys if needed but buyers will only need to tap on the Unlock button on the Kleard Now app to unlock the door once an agent gives them approval. Includes 4 AA batteries and last a few months.

The Keybox 3 is a lockbox that works with Kleard Now. It is lower-priced and can be used on multiple listings since it doesn't need to be installed on the door, it can just be placed on the door knob or attached somewhere else on the property. Buyers will have to use the key to unlock the door(s) which isn't as convenient as the Deadbolt (since the Deadbolt is keyless) but still serves the purpose of self tours. Requires 4 AAA batteries (not included).

What is the installation process like for the locks?
Installing the Deadbolt 2S takes about 15 minutes and we have a self-install video on our website you can take a look at (video here: https://youtu.be/73jtHaFrD5k). They Keybox 3 is easy to use and can be installed in seconds by removing the shackle and attaching it to the door handle. You can also attach the Keybox 3 with screws if you prefer.

If I use the Deadbolt, how do I as the agent or the seller access the property?
From the Kleard app, you will see a master PIN for the lock. You and the seller can use that to access the property. There are also 5 physical keys included with the Deadbolt as another option for you or the seller to access the home.

How can I grant access to an inspector, appraiser, or contractor?
From the Kleard app, you can generate One-Time PIN codes for third-party vendors if needed.

If I need technical assistance with the lock, who can I call?
For tech support related to the igloohome Deadbolt 2S or igloohome Keybox 3, please call 929 224 0688.

Do buyers have to pay to use Kleard Now?
No, the Kleard Now app is free for consumers to use.

What makes Kleard Now unique?
Kleard was founded in 2017 and focused on helping agents be safer and more effective through the technology we built. Kleard has partnered with MLS’ and REALTOR Associations and we have strong connections in the industry. We also were part of the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) 2019 REACH Accelerator Program, which is a program that is comprised of 8 companies that were carefully selected because of the unique technology that help drive the real estate industry forward.

Kleard Now is our next huge feature-set that allows self tours for homes listed by real estate agents. The huge benefit is our service helps buyers, sellers, AND real estate agents. This is important because that balance of benefitting all parties involved is what’s needed to move the industry forward.

Is the Kleard Now app something I download as an agent or do I only need the Kleard app?
The Kleard Now app is for buyers to download. The Kleard app is what you as a real estate agent want to download because it has agent tools built-in, as well as a Kleard Now tab that will allow you to manage your self tour listings.

If a buyer downloads the Kleard Now app, what can they do with it?
Buyers that download the Kleard Now app can search for homes, save homes as favorites, apply filters to their search, and can request access into homes that are Kleard Now compatible (can be self toured).

Does Kleard Now work for any agent, brokerage, or MLS?
Yes, any agent, brokerage, or MLS that wants to use our technology can do so. With MLS’, it’s important that a partnership be created so Kleard Now can be integrated into the MLS system for an improved use experience.

What type of safety features are included for Kleard Now?
The app will verify the buyer’s driver’s license, their cell phone, email address, and a selfie. The selfie utilizes facial recognition technology to make sure the photo is of a person instead of a wall or the ground. We also know how long the buyer in at the property and if their tour lasts longer than 30 minutes, the agent who gave them access will be notified to check in on them.

Can I live video chat with the buyers during the self tour?
Although we don’t have live video chat built into the app, you’re welcome to ask the buyer if you can video chat with their video chat option of choice. For occupied homes this is a great idea for increased safety but that’s your call.

What other safety measures can I take if I’m listing a home and using Kleard Now?
Adding a video doorbell as the homeowner is always helpful but be aware of audio recording laws in your area so that you are not breaking any laws. We would recommend turning off audio recording if you use a video doorbell.

How do I get Kleard Now Signage/Signs?
We offer Kleard Now signs to help get your listing more attention. You can get your Kleard Now signs here: https://www.kleard.com/signage.html

Should I reach out to my MLS and ask they partner with Kleard?
Yes, because this will make the app experience much better and it will benefit your clients as well.

Where is Kleard’s headquarters?
Kleard is based out of Seattle, WA.
